The Marx Memorial Library and Workers’ School is open to the public Monday to Thursday from 12 until 4pm. We also offer guided tours of the building every Tuesday and Thursday at 1pm.
If you would like to access our collections, we recommend that you book an appointment in advance. This will enable us to retrieve any books and boxes for you in advance.

The vast majority of books, periodicals and pamphlets are catalogued on our database here. We are in the process of cataloguing our archives and posters. We are in the process of digitising some of our core collections including parts of the Spanish Collection and issues of the Daily Worker/Morning Star. We hope to make these available online soon. The Library relies on a community of volunteers that play a dynamic part in all aspects of Library work. Many of our volunteers come in for one or two days per week and help with a range of tasks from administrative jobs, to giving tours, and assisting in cataloguing and
…The Library gratefully receives donations of books and archives. What we choose to keep will be in line with our acquisitions policy. Given our limited resources, we often have to advise that duplicate publications are sent elsewhere. If you would like to donate books please get in touch.
